Parents Arrested after Leaving 4 Children in SUV in Extreme Heat Conditions

A couple in Texas is under investigation, after being accused of leaving their four children alone in an the family SUV for a few hours as outdoor temperatures nearly topped 100 degrees in Dallas, Texas. Reports indicate the children's parents were inside a plasma donation center, where they checked in around 10:30 a.m. The incident was reported just after 12:30 p.m.

Eye-witness found the children inside an SUV all alone, where they had been for nearly two hours and took it upon themselves to get the kids out of the car.

"The witnesses had actually opened up the door and got the kiddos out of the car," said Sgt. Charles Young. "They knew they had called the police, so I think they felt safe in getting the kids out of the car."

The children ages are reported as 2 months, 15 months, 3 and 5 years-old. They were taken to the hospital and treated for dehydration and heat exhaustion and are expected to be okay. The parents, identified as 24 year-old Nicholas Madison and 22 year-old Natasha Hamalian were arrested for child endangerment.

"We had a positive outcome, fortunately, yes. This could have been much, much, much worse," Young said.
