Police Officer Injured in Head on Collision with SUV in Independence, MO.

On Saturday November 12, 2011 a deputy with the Jackson County Sherriff's Department was seriously injured in a head-on collision with a sports utility vehicle that happened late in the morning in Independence, Missouri. The auto injury accident happened as the deputy was pursuing another vehicle along Highway 24. The deputy swerved to miss a motorcycle and instead hit the SUV head on.

The deputy and the driver of the SUV were hospitalized with serious injuries but neither is expected to be life threatening. No other vehicles involved in the Kansas City car crash.
