Power steering problem forces recall on Mazda3 and Mazda5

This week, the Mazda Motor Corp. issued a recall on 2007-2009 models of the Mazda 3 and Mazda5 because of a problem with the power steering.  According to the recall, the power steering is at risk of failure, which can make it difficult to impossible to steer, thus leading to possible serious accidents.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has received 33 complaints since June on the issue, reporting at least three injury accidents.
