Rear-End Trucking Collisions Can Happen in Kansas and Missouri, Too-- Are You Paying Attention?

One person was killed and another critically injured in a trucking accident in Arlington, Washington last week. According to police a 75-year-old woman was killed and an 87-year-old man was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after their vehicle was rear-ended by a semi-truck in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Arlington.

The woman was identified as Barbara E. Humberson of Blaine, WA. The driver was identified as Robert L. Gwaltney of Camano Island, according to police.

The collision happened when the Honda was in the far right lane of southbound I-5 and was moving either very slowly or was stopped. The semi-truck was in the same lane and slammed on the brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision, but wasn't able to stop in time and hit the car, sending it across the southbound lanes of the freeway.
