Research Suggests Repetitive Head Injuries in Athletes May Cause Brain Cell Death CTE

Research at Boston University suggests that concussive symptoms caused by repetetive head injuries may be linked to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).  Autopsies of former athletes known to have suffered multiple head injuries and/or concussions is showing a common trend of a build up of a dangerous protein called Tao.  This protein begins to cluster and affect the fibers of the brain leading to brain cell death and dementia as well as other brain illnesses as ALS.  The problem is this fatal brain condition right now isn't detectable until after death.
