Rollover Crash on I-35 Claims Life of Teen Girl-- Two Others Seriously Injured

A 15 year-old girl was killed in a tragic rollover motor vehicle accident on Interstate 35 near Antioch Road in Overland Park, Kansas. The fatal car accident happened on Tuesday June 14, 2011 when a Chevrolet Blazer traveling southbound on I-35 veered onto the right shoulder. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle overturned.

A 15 year-old Kansas City, Kan. girl was killed in the one vehicle crash. According to KC Police, the teenage victim was not wearing a seat belt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Blazer, identified as 35 year-old Damon L. Smith and a second passenger Augustina Esparza, 35, both of KCK were transported to different hospitals with serious injuries. Only Esparza was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
