Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys Donates to the YMCA Challenger Program

On March 16, 2010, Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys Kansas City Accident & Injury Attorneys donated money to the YMCA Challenger Program and became a major contributor. The Challenger program was created for boys and girls aged 5-30 with disabilities including physical, intellectual and developmental. The goal of the program is to provide everyone with the opportunity to participate regardless of any limitations.

Athletes with a wide variety of disabilities get put on a teams with peers that is coached by volunteers. The Challenger program goes beyond merely playing a game but allows the participants to make new friends and build their self esteem. The athletes are paired with a "buddy" volunteer who is 9 years or older. The young athletes receive a team shirt and an award for participating.

The goal of the YMCA Challenger program is aligned with the goal of Roswold Foundation for Injured Children (RFFIC), which was established by James Roswold and Heather Lottmann, who are dedicated to helping improve the lives of children. RFFIC is a Kansas City based non-profit foundation dedicated to assisting children who are struggling with the permanent affects of a serious injury and helping families who are dealing with the difficulties inherent in raising children with serious injuries. Our mission is to make a difference in injured children's lives in the Kansas City metropolitan area by aiding them however we can to achieve their greatest potential and provide them and their families with support on the road to recovery.
