Speeding, No Seat Belts Cause of Fatal Ohio Crash Resulting in One Death, Three Injuries

In Cincinnati, Ohio, a motorist lost control of a truck and went off the road, striking a tree near the Colerain Township.  According to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened on U.S. 27 when a 2001 Toyota Celica lost control and went off the road. The collision caused three passengers riding in the backseat of the car to be ejected from the vehicle. The Highway Patrol indicated none of the appeared to be wearing a seat belt.

One of the passengers, Adan Vargas Espinoza, 21, of Florence, Ky., was ejected and landed in the road before being hit by two vehicles. Vargas Espinoza was later pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies said neither of those vehicles stopped or returned to the scene after the crash.

The two other ejected passengers have been identified as Jorge Garcia-Espinosa, 23, and Alvaro Galan Hernandez, 21. Both victims suffered injuries but refused treatment from Colerain Township medical emergency personnel.

The driver of the car, Adrian Angeles-Garcia, 24, of Elsmere, Ky., has been arrested and charged with one count of vehicular manslaughter. An investigation will determine the cause of the crash but deputies said speeding was believed to be a major factor in the crash.
