Toddler Critically Injured after Car Jumps Curb While Trying to Park

A 2 month-old boy suffered catastrophic injuries when he was hit by a car that accidentally hopped a curb in downtown Los Angeles, California. The serious child injury accident happened on July 14, 2011. Reports indicate the infant was in a stroller at 4th and Spring streets when the driver of a Cadillac Deville attempted to park and hit the gas pedal instead of the break. The car lurched forward, jumping the curb and striking the stroller containing the infant.

The mother was not injured in the pedestrian accident. The baby was taken to a nearby hospital where he is in critical condition, having sustained what was described as "grave injuries".
