Toyota and Ford Announce Recalls Affect Kansas and Missouri Drivers

The Toyota Motor Corp. is recalling nearly 1,000,000 vehicles and Ford Motors is recalling over 14,000 of its own vehicles for various reason.  Toyota, who recalled nearly a million cars and trucks last year is now concerned about molding and carpeting on floor boards of vehicles possibly coming up and interfering with acceleration and braking.

Ford Motors is recalling F-150 models because of a potential problem with air bags that could cause them to deploy without warning.  Check below for more information on these recalls and contact your dealership if you have one of these potentially dangerous vehicles.

Toyota Motors Co. recall information:

• Recalled: 20,000 2006 and early 2007 GS 300 and GS 350 all wheel drives so they can modify the plastic pad around and underneath the accelerator pedal.  The molding can come undone and cause interference with the gas or brake pedals.
• Recalled: 372,00 2004-2007 RX 330, RX 35o and RX400 vehicles.
• Recalled: 397,000 2004-06 Highlander and Highland RV to replace the carpet because the retention clips are malfunctioning and could cause carpet to come undone and affect accelerator.
  

Ford Motors Recall information:

• Recalled: 144,000 2005-06 Ford F-150 trucks because of a concern the air bag could deploy without warning.
