Tractor Trailer in Crossover Accident in Lee's Summit

Friday afternoon traffic along Missouri 350 Highway was brought to an abrupt halt due to a crash involving a semi and two other vehicles.  The tractor trailer, which was hauling livestock, crossed over the median hitting a Jeep and a pickup truck.  The driver of the Jeep, Mark W. Prigge, 23, of Blue Springs, was killed in the accident.  The driver of the pickup was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries.  The driver of the semi was also taken to a hospital for treatment.  There was no report as to the condition of the livestock in the tractor trailer.

Motorists were advised to avoid the area because all lanes of westbound Missouri 350 Highway were closed while crews cleared the scene.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
