Two Fatalities in Collision between Two Semi-Trucks in SE Kansas

Two men were killed and another suffered a serious injury when they were involved in a collision between two semi-trucks near Bloom, Kansas; about 20 miles south of Dodge City.  According to members of the Kansas State Highway Patrol, the accident, which happened on U.S. 54, was caused when one of the trucks lost control and went across the center line.  Another truck heading the opposite direction couldn't avoid the crash.  The trucks collided, causing an explosion.

Two men from Las Vegas, NV. were killed in the crash.  The driver of the second truck, a 32 year-old male, from California, was severely injured and taken to a hospital in the area.  The highway was shut down for a few hours while the accident was investigated.  So far KHP has not said what caused the crash.
