Two Girls Hit Leaving School in Olathe

Heatherstone Elementary School in Olathe was the scene of an accident involving two 10-year-old girls on Friday.  A junior from Olathe East High School, while trying to find a place to park, hit the young girls. 

One of the girls was airlifted to Children's Mercy Hospital as a precaution for possible head injuries due to the accident.  The second girl was taken to an area hospital by a parent.  Both children are expected to make a full recovery according to a police report late Friday. 

Fortunately, medical personnel responded quickly because they were already at the school taking part in a fun run.  Police indicated a decision would be made later as to whether or not the teen driver would be charged in this case.
