Two Killed, Three Seriously Injured in Fatal Crossover Crash on Kansas Highway 10

Two people, including a five year-old child, were killed in a fatal crossover car accident on Kansas Highway 10 near Eudora, Kansas over the weekend. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the fatal crash-- which happened on Saturday April 16, 2011-- was caused when one car crossed over and hit a van carrying four passengers.

24 year-old Ryan Pittman of Eudora, was driving a Toyota Camry when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed over the median colliding with a Dodge van. Pittman, who was not wearing his seat belt was killed instantly. The passenger of the van, including two adult, a five year-old boy and a 23 month-old girl were rushed to the hospital were the boy was pronounced dead.

The KHP has said that Pittman has tested positive for marijuana in a preliminary autopsy but have not said whether or not it was a contributing factor in the fatal crossover crash.
