Two year-old girl hit by car in Topeka, KS.; avoids serious injury

A two year-old girl was struck by a car in Topeka, Kansas on Sunday August 29th, 2010.  The accident happened at the 1200 block of S.W. Buchanan around noon.  The little girl was standing by the curb but behind a parked car, out of view of traffic when she ran out into the street attempting to cross.

A car traveling south on Buchanan didn't see her in time and wasn't able to stop.  The little girl hit the back panel of the vehicle but did not suffer serious injury.  She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation but is expected to be okay.
