The United States Consumer Products Safety Commision issued a re-call on one liter bottles of Scope Original Mint Mouthwash. The hazard forcing the dangerous product re-call is ethyl gas, an ingredient in the mouthwash which may cause serious injury or death to small children. The bottle was not issued with the proper warning stating the danger to children. In addition some of these bottles may have defective child resistant caps.
The re-call states that the danger is only to children and that the product is perfectly safe for adults. If you have this product, the USCPSC and Proctor and Gamble ask you keep it out of reach of small children. If you would like a new bottle with a working child resistant cap, contact Proctor and Gamble for a replacement coupon.
