A 36 year-old mechanic was killed after an on the job accident at the Osborn Trucking Company in Salt Lake City, Utah. The accident happened on December 18, 2010 when the man, identified as Jason Webb, was pumping gas from one truck to another when his clothes were snagged by the truck's power takeoff shaft. The man was pulled through a spinning blade, severing his arm from his body and delivering a catastrophic head injury.
According to Ron Osborn, the owner of the trucking company, Webb was performing a task that he did almost every day. Webb was under the truck when the accident happened, wh ich Osborn says there was no reason for him to be under the vehicle near the spinning shaft.
The accident is being investigated.
