Woman suffers back injury in Topeka 2 car-collision, driver flees

A two car collision in Topeka, Kansas ended with a woman suffering a life threatening injury and the driver fleeing the scene of the crash.  The accident happened at the intersection of S.E. 21st and Adams St. in Topeka around 6:30 in the evening when a Honda ran a red light and collided with a Buick.  An elderly couple riding in the Buick were not seriously hurt in the crash, however a woman who was sitting in the back of the Honda suffered a very serious injury to her back and was hospitalized.  Her injuries are considered life threatening.

Witnesses of the accident say they saw the Honda speeding and weaving in and out of traffic before the crash.  The car is registered to a Topeka rental company.  The driver of the Honda allegedly got out and yelled at the driver of the Buick for cutting him off, then fled the scene.  Police are looking for the supspect.
