Worker Killed in Fall Accident at Bill Snyder Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas

A 26 year-old construction worker from Council Grove was killed in a work related accident when he fell from a scaffolding while working at the Kansas State University football stadium in Manhattan, Kansas on August 1, 2011.

The man, identified as Zachery John Wilson was doing masonry work on the east side of Bill Snyder Family Stadium when the scaffolding he was standing on collapsed and the worker fell nearly 100 feet.

Wilson was an employee of Five Star Masonry, which was doing subcontract work through Konrath Construction Managers. His crew was working on installing new restroom facilities at the stadium.

The university and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration will investigate the fatal work injury accident.
