A woman driving eastbound in the westbound lanes of K-10 Highway near DeSoto, Kansas was dodged by several drivers before crashing into a minivan on Monday evening around 10:30 p.m. Dora Ellen Henning, 76, of DeSoto headed the wrong way on the highway causing several cars to swerve to avoid being struck. One driver had to drive off the road and was injured trying to avoid an accident with Henning.
Henning then struck a minivan driven by a 41-year-old Kansas City, Missouri man. Henning was pronounced dead at the scene and the minivan driver sustained injuries, but is expected to recover. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Henning drove several miles in the wrong direction before the accident occurred. The crash happened between Lexington and Edgerton on K-10. The highway was closed for 4 hours.
