The Myth of Drunk Drivers Walking Away Unscathed

Comments (0)

The idea makes its way around different circles.  Drunk drivers are more likely to walk away from the accidents they cause.  Some hear this and fume inwardly. How could that be?  Where is the fairness in that?

Then there are those who hear the myth that drunk drivers walk away from accidents more often, and it gives them a false, albeit twisted, sense of security.  The fact is no real evidence exists that drunk drivers are less likely to be hurt than the people they injure.  But what research does show is that each year thousands of innocent people are killed by drunk drivers.

In 2011, the number of lives lost was 9,878.  If you or someone you love has been injured by a drunk driver, learn everything you can about your rights.  You can start by downloading a copy of our book Don't Wreck Your Injury Claim.
