A big rig truck lost control and tipped over on the overpass from southbound US-75 to I-70 near Topeka, Kansas. The truck driver had to be extricated by Topeka Fire Department crews and was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation of injuries believed to be minor in nature.

The semi-trailer was carrying a load of hams when it crashed, spilled its load onto the highway blocking traffic for several hours. The accident, which happened just after 1 p.m. CST, closed down the overpass until clost to 6 p.m. as crews cleared the scene. It is unknown whether the accident was caused by a shifting load on the truck of if strong winds caused the truck to tip over.
