Last week, police were forced to shut down the Love, Laughter and Learning Day Care Center in Emporia, Kansas after marijuana and cocaine were discovered in the basement of the early education center.  The closing of the day care is comes in the wake of several violations over the past month revealed by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

On April 13, the school's director, Tonya D. Rangel was found sleeping at her desk, which left several children unattended for a length of time.  The health department also discovered that Rangel's boyfriend was listed as a resident.  They informed her at the time that her boyfriend was not allowed to be living at the residence and was not permitted to be on the grounds during operating hours.
