St. Joseph Industrial Accident Claims Life of Herzog's Employee

A 40 year-old employee at Herzog's Railcar Repair Shop was killed in a work related accident on Wednesday May 18, 2011 in St. Joseph, Missouri. According to police, the fatal industrial accident which occurred around 1:00 p.m. at the shop which is off Easton Road on County Road 55, reported The Kansas City Star.

The work accident victim has been identified as Robert V. Montgomery. When the accident occurred, Montgomery was working on a railcar, when a large piece of equipment fell on top of. He was pronounced dead at the scene when emergency medical personnel arrived.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigate the fatal industrial accident. As it is known now, it is not uncommon for employees of Herzog to perform maintenance on railcars, in addition to perfomring custom duties.
