Worker Killed in Moving Truck Accident on the Plaza in Kansas City

A moving company employee was killed last week in a work related accident that happened in front of the Inter-Continental hotel at Ward Parkway and Wornall Road about 4 p.m. on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, Missouri.  The fatal on-the-job accident happened on July 21, 2011.

According to Kansas City Police, the fatal accident happened when the worker tried to jump into a truck that had slipped out of gear and had begun to roll down the street. The truck hit a curb, throwing the worker from the vehicle. He suffered critical injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he passed away.

The victim has been identified as 27 year-old Fredrick D. Simmons.
