"After my wife had that accident we were considering how to approach this. We knew we needed a lawyer and we didn't really have any resources. This was the first time we had to actually use an attorney to handle this sort of thing. We had never been in a situation like this before.
When we met James, he impressed me with his professionalism, his knowledge of what he was talking about, and his ability to convey confidence. You know that whole issue with confidence for me is extremely important. As he was talking with us it was clear he was very knowledgeable. He was not a reserved guy who would sit there and "yeah-yeah-yeah" to somebody. He impressed me with his forthrightness and his desire to see something right take place. Because it was our first time using this kind of service we were a little apprehensive, but with each communication that I had with him it made me feel more confident that we made the correct choice.
In the past I had been though some "go-rounds" with insurance companies having to do with other issues. I had learned through experience that if I am just going to approach the insurance company and try to get what I feel is fair I knew that I wasn't going to get anywhere. I had been in situations before without reaching out to an attorney. This time I felt I didn't want to have to arm wrestle with these people. I wanted someone to go to bat for me who was to going to stand up for us and get what we deserved.
He was always available. I regularly access email and internet services and he was always available when I sent him an e-mail or I called him, and if I didn't immediately access him with a phone call he would always call me back and that really made me feel good knowing that I could always have access to him. His staff was very good too ... courteous, prompt, always quick to return calls. We were very pleased.
My wife had problems health-wise because of a health incident a couple of years before that accident happened. She had an aorta clogged that caused all kinds of cascading problems in her ability to carry-on, and I remember when the doctor said "You can't really consider her to be a normal person any more because of her medical needs". And what happened with this accident was that that her medical needs were greatly impacted by this accident and well that was one of the things that really concerned us about making sure we got good representation because we definitely needed it. There was no way in the world, I mean right a few days after the accident the insurance companies were basically washing their hands of the whole thing and we were left with quite a bit of expenses hanging out and so James gave us the confidence. We were moving forward with that and feeling like we were going to get this taken care of; it was not going to be the problem we envisioned it to be.
I have already told friends and relatives about you guys and what you did for us and James, to use a cliché, he is a real straight shooter. He lays it down for you and lets you know exactly what you have got going on and what he thinks of the case. He doesn't blow a lot of sunshine at you. He gives you a full dose of reality and then at the same time while he is doing all that it didn't feel like he was talking down to us. It didn't feel like we were getting somewhere until he tried to make us not feel discouraged - even though he was giving us a full dose of reality he was also letting us know that he was there to make this right and that he would make it right.
Like I said this was all new to me. I liked the way that he approached it with the, I guess you call it an attitude that...he knew how to handle these folks. He wasn't walking into it and scratching his head thinking "I wonder if this is going to work?" He had a real good picture in his head, he described it to us beforehand and sure enough it pretty much went the way he thought it was going to go. And that made us feel good.
I know he is a busy guy and he's got all kinds of other stuff going on but he never made us feel like our case wasn't as important as anybody else's. Like I say he was prompt to return our calls and give us answers to questions we had and to help us carry on with our heads held high knowing that this is going to get worked out.
There was one thing that I felt really good about him ... I felt like...when I was a little kid I was walking down the street with my little brother. We were both little, and a bunch of guys came up and jumped us. And my future brother-in-law just happened to be driving by at the time. He stopped and he parked across the street, and he came running across the street. Now, he wasn't much bigger than those guys and there were like 5 or 6 guys that were jumping us, but he came running. And I'm going to tell you the feeling you get when you see someone coming to your aid like that, that's how I felt when I was dealing with James. I felt like these insurance companies were ... just going to gang-up on us and yeah, you know you get this feeling like "where is the help going to come from, gee-whiz, I've got to reach out" and just like my future brother-in-law he saved the day for us, he really saved us. James, he stepped in and took care all of these problems for us you know. Our car insurance, we had the minimum liability and the medical coverage evaporated, and he really stepped in and made it right for us.
Anytime for me, anytime that I seek help from somebody, they've got to know what they are talking about, he knew in a matter-of-fact way and said this is going to happen, this is what we are going to do. He knew what was going on; yeah he made me feel like man this is right this is going to work out.
It felt like you know a guy like James has to be able to step out into that legal world and be respected. He can't be out there asking for some crazy stupid stuff and I felt like what he got for us was just and was right and was not overreaching. It felt like he did the right thing.
He is an enjoyable guy. He was personable. He didn't talk down to us he really made me feel like he was planning to serve us. He made us feel like we were equals. He wasn't talking down at all.
I think my level of trust becomes apparently when just the other day Joann M., she is not a relative she is a friend, we love her dearly, she lost her husband and before her husband passed away he asked me to please watch out for her, please help take care of her. I took it very seriously. I feel like Dan is still watching over us and of course watching over his wife and I feel like this is something that I wouldn't have steered her in James' direction if I didn't feel like he was really going to do her right, you know? And stand up for her and watch over her. Yeah I really look up to James.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my feelings about James and your company. I appreciate it."
James G., husband of Rachael G.
"I heard through another of his clients that James Roswold would make a good attorney, and he suggested that I use him. I didn't really know too much about attorneys but he rated him so high that I thought why not. I met with him and my instincts inside just said go with it. I wasn't leery of him at all, especially when I met him. I enjoyed working with him, and I wouldn't change a thing. Anytime I would call to try to get in touch with him to find out something about the case, and what to expect in my near future, I was always given a good answer, and he would tell me don't worry about it, everything's okay, and I just put my trust in him, just like I would my doctor. He's a fair attorney, and I just think he's a good, good attorney. He and his staff made it very easy. Everybody on his staff was wonderful. They were very nice on the phone and pleasant. I'm very pleased with my results. I'm very pleased with the outcome of everything. He's a good attorney. I love him, and if I had to use an attorney again, I would choose him."

"When I first spoke with Mr. Roswold, he was very open and honest. When I first spoke to him about the death of my daughter, he was very dependable. He responded to me very well and that is what I needed. I needed someone I could rely on and trust and that is where -- that's when I took the first step and said okay. Everything he said -- he was just very honest and it wasn't like I was a file. He didn't make it seem like I was just some other client. Everything that I have heard and seen from your firm is that you guys treat us like we're people, everything from me coming in for my appointments or just from conversation. It made me feel comfortable knowing that I wasn't just some other file sitting on his desk.
James and his staff were always prompt in returning a phone call. I didn't know a lot about it, but I do now. He informed me of everything that was possible, everything that could occur, he was just very open and honest about all of it. I call him for everything now if that tells you anything. I refer him to other people. We've referred him to friends, we've referred him to my sister-in-law, I'd use him again, and I call him for everything. He was very direct and very to the point.
The staff was wonderful. You guys are always pleasant when I call. It doesn't matter, like at the time of the death of my daughter, I know I was probably getting on a lot of people's nerves, but I would never know it. He handled what needed to be handled.
And I go back to the death of my daughter -- they were very -- I needed them. I just believed that I needed them at that time. They are about their word, and they're honest, and they're reliable and dependable. They mean what they say.
You guys are like counselors. If I just need someone to call, I know that I can always call your firm. You guys always take time for people. To me, you guys will be the only ones that I call and refer. You guys have been great for me and my family."

"James seemed to understand the case and really be excited to take it on, and I appreciated his ambitious personality. Everything seemed to be going the way it was supposed to go. He knew what he was doing so once I realized that he knew what he was doing, and I didn't have to worry about it and it was in his hands, I just felt more comfortable knowing that he was going to take care of everything that needed to get done. I think that once he takes a ball and runs with it, rest assured that things will get taken care of. Had it not been for James, we would not have gotten to that result.
Your staff was great. They were very responsive. Just the overall knowing what the process was, knowing what I needed to do versus what you guys needed to do, you guys were very clear in that situation. Just a lot of communication. Any time I sent e-mails to the people that were handling the case or any time I left a message, people always got back to me. They understood my concerns and knew what I was going through wasn't necessarily something that was enjoyable, so they helped make it more pleasant."

"I just wanted you to know how happy and fortunate I feel to have been able to work with James Roswold on a difficult and frustrating situation ... James never gave up or acted frustrated with my numerous contacts. He provided sound legal advice, help, support and encouragement. I don't believe I could have gotten this mess resolved without him."
Angela B.
"I believe that James cared about me and my case. He made me aware from the beginning. He explained the law and the rules of what I was facing and it was -- he really went into details with me. He told me the legal issues and when he researched my complaints they always came back positive. I had a complaint about the issues with the VA and he worked things out. I called him back and he had already taken care of it.
He fought for me and it helped me. He told me what I needed to know and I trusted in him. He's aggressive, and he'll stick with -- whatever issues or doubts you might have, just let him know, and he'll fight for you. When a client chooses a lawyer, you need someone that is going to fight for you, and I'm fully satisfied. I wish that I could have stayed in Kansas City, but I've been working with him out of state. What he did for me, it was a positive result. I trust him because he is upbeat and you know, he tells you what can be and what can't be. I trust the firm, and if anything happens I'll be contacting the firm again."

"A former client of Mr. Roswold recommended him to me. They said he was a very good lawyer and told me to go in and talk to him about my case and I was very impressed by what he was saying and everything. He thought he could help me so I chose him to be my lawyer. It just seemed like he was a very smart lawyer and knew what he was talking about, so I said why not just give it a try.
I trusted him, you know, we talked a lot and he reassured me that he would work for my best interests, and I am very glad that I did hire him. He was very friendly. He listened. He was very concerned about how I was feeling and not only that but family too, he cared about not only me but cared about our family also. Instead of being just a lawyer, he was a lawyer, but he was also our friend, and that's one thing I did like.
His staff was very friendly also. They were concerned when I was sick when I called them they always tried to answer my questions if not they would ask Mr. Roswold and he would get back with me. They were very prompt about everything and they also care. Everything worked out just fine. They are very good, he's a very good lawyer.
I recommended another person to him and I wouldn't have done that if I didn't know that he was going to be able to help that person.
I asked him once, I was being sued about a deal, and I asked him for his advice about that and it worked out. He just told me what to do and I did it. You know I feel that he cared about me as a person. I wasn't just a case, you know. We would talk about my son. My son runs track and everything and we talk about that and he is a very good person.
He kept on telling me that he was fighting for my best interests and then when we went to depositions and stuff he was aggressive and then when we went back for another hearing he was aggressive also. He is very educated and I can tell that and if he didn't know the answer he would find the right answer. I'm pretty sure he would talk to other colleagues that to make sure he was going the right direction. I liked that too because he just didn't ...if he was concerned about something he was going to ask somebody else about it.
He was just a nice guy. It just helped a whole lot knowing that he was fighting in my corner for everything that he could get for me. I know he did the best he could. I trusted him with my case. If he told me to take this or take that I trusted his judgment. He was upfront with me just like any other person. He didn't know how this case was going to go. Certain things could have went a different way and well you know he never did quit fighting, so everything turned out okay. He is just a very good lawyer. He's a good person, very educated, and I loved working with him.
If I have any other cases, which I hope that's something that won't happen any time soon, I will surely give him a call. There won't be any hesitation on my part. I would call him in a heartbeat and I will stay in touch with him in the future just to tell him how I'm doing and see how he and his family are doing."

"When I called I felt really comfortable over the phone and decided to come in and kind of check James Roswold out, see how he might handle the case. Just the way he spoke, he spoke very professionally and I thought he was very honest with me. I was very comfortable. He was very professional. When you lose a loved one you want somebody who is going to be very caring and he was. Everyone was wonderful. Everybody was very courteous and very nice, you know they made sure you were very comfortable and if you needed anything. They will make sure everything is in place. Just wonderful caring people.
I went to another firm before him and I was told I didn't have a case that it wasn't worth it. Some attorneys are strictly business and say things that might hurt your feelings, like I said they don't care if they hurt your feelings. The attorney before Mr. Roswold it was like telling me it wasn't worth it. It was very hurtful.
I like the caring part because you have lost a loved one. I highly recommend the firm to anyone. I was kind of hesitant. I thought, you know, maybe it might not be a case. But he looked over all the evidence and said there was a really good chance. He was very quick on things and never left you hanging. We were really pleased with the outcome.
I had health issues myself. He made sure I was comfortable and if there was anything I needed just wonderful.
In cases like this you have to be aggressive in working with insurance companies and trying to get something done. You can't wait around till the last minute. You have to be on top of things. James Roswold was very much that. He seemed very sure that he could win the case and it's, I mean that just proved that he is very talented and he's got a ... I don't know what the word is...he seems sure about himself.
Considering everything with the case I will definitely recommend him to others. I trusted him that he would do the best job and he did.
He explained everything and definitely the good and the bad and the possibilities. If we went this way or the other way and if we went to trial what could happen. He explained everything in detail and made sure I understood it before I left the office. I have actually recommended him to a friend of ours for another nursing home malpractice case.
He was very nice. He is a family man, very caring, that makes a lot of difference. When you lose a family member and you are already hurting you want somebody to feel for you and be caring and be ok and be upfront. They are just a wonderful firm. I highly recommend them."

"I definitely got the personal time that I needed. It was wonderful, it was quick and to the point, which is the way I like to do business. James took care of me, you know I explained my situation, we signed the papers he took the case and I was on my way. I got two small children and I don't have a whole lot of time to be wasted. From the moment I met him, the way he had me in and out and I had a soccer game or a Girl Scout meeting or something that I needed to do so that won me over. I told him that if we could do it as quick as possible that would be great for me and he did it as quickly as possible.
It was a good experience, James is a nice person and he's lovely and he's easy to talk to, and a pleasant experience. Your staff is wonderful, especially Diane. She has been so helpful to me.
If I was to tell somebody about this firm I would tell them that he's a good lawyer, and everybody was so helpful. I didn't have to do very much, I didn't have to do anything actually just come in sign some papers. He took the time and the patience to wait to get a decent offer, to me that signifies a lawyer that is good at what he does, he didn't rush the process. When I was getting impatient he was telling me to just hold tight you know he has calls in he was trying to make some back and forth with opposing counsel and he even said sometimes patience is worth the wait and it was. Me calling every week, I'm sure that was a trying process you know, so yes I think he worked very hard.
If I was talking to a friend or a relative that needed a lawyer I would definitely recommend James. I trust him. The conversations that we had about my case, he was very knowledgeable and informative. I could tell from the moment I met him I said I really need to get out of here I have such and such to do and if we can do this quickly and he was like no problem you know I aim to please and he got me out quickly so he was very upfront. I think this is a great firm, the staff is very pleasant and cooperative and helpful and informative and I am very pleased with my settlement and my experience with your firm."
Arrica T. I was looking for a law firm that handles auto accident related claims, I was getting calls from insurance companies ... I talked to James over the phone and went over with him what was happening. He showed a sincere caring and empathy to my situation, what I was going through with the insurance company, and assured me that he would get in touch with them and I wouldn’t receive any more phone calls. I just felt comfortable, he gave me some clear direction and things that I needed to do, what to do, and what my legal rights were, so I felt some reassurance speaking with him on the phone. There was a lot of Q&A ... I had never been through anything like this before it was kind of scary with insurance companies wanting you to give sworn recorded statements and not knowing what you can and can’t do and what you should and shouldn’t do. So it was very informative. There were a lot of questions on my part, but James was able to answer all of them.
James made me feel as though he would go the extra mile for me. He told me some things about my legal rights and things that I should consider to be acceptable and not acceptable from where I stood about the circumstances, and so I just felt like he knew what he was doing and felt very comfortable. He came off very confident, to the point that that was the first automobile accident that I was involved in and I actually retained him for a second one a few years later that was also not my fault and had him handle that case for me as well.
What provoked me to call an attorney was when they started asking me detailed questions and wanted me to give a sworn statement over the phone, that’s when I ended the conversation and something told me not to do what they were telling me to do because the accident wasn’t my fault and I didn’t know why they would be wanting a sworn testimony from me and then when I talked to a friend and they said well you need to get an attorney and I went looking and that’s when I found them.
James was absolutely 100% correct when he said after the day he initially spoke with me over the phone on a consultation ... I gave him all the information, my insurance company, who it was that was calling me, the different questions I was being asked, and when he said I would not get any more phone calls it was 100% right on I never got another phone call from the insurance company after that.
Your staff was very friendly, very nice.
I was please with my results, on both occasions.
About your firm, you all are obviously very knowledgeable. I can speak to someone who has not been involved in an accident, my personal interaction with James was as a result of someone else’s negligence, giving me some very clear direction as far as what my legal rights were. I had no idea what my rights were, I would say that knowing how to give some good clear solid advice to clients is very important, especially when someone has never been involved in a situation like that, so that’s where I found him to be most beneficial to me.
James actually helped me locate some old MRI records, between the first accident and the second accident, your office helped me track two sets of old MRI’s.
James even communicated with me after the fact, asked me how my nonsmoking adventure was going. I’m still not smoking since April 1st, so I’m doing well.
He handled me very nicely because I can get easily agitated sometimes and he has a very good demeanor about him so I was completely satisfied.
He seemed very knowledgeable about the laws, rights.
He has an ability to stay calm, because that’s definitely where I would have come up a little short. Looking at things a little differently, even the angle in which my case was presented because of a potential pre-existing injury that the defense was trying to claim and I think the way that James presented that and went about it certainly helped my case and the whole mediation process.
He’s very personable, very friendly. He definitely tolerated my short-temperedness, which I have the ability to be sometimes.
He just always was very informative, if I e-mailed him and needed to get some information or an update he was quick to respond and I appreciate that. I’m somewhat of an impatient person so him taking the time to e-mail me really quick and give me a status update within a few minutes when I reached out to him, those little things like that meant a lot.
I would recommend him to others and have recommended him to others. There was a supervisor, one of my supervisors who was in an auto accident, and I was kind of giving her information that I remember James giving to me, some of that solid advice, and I gave her his phone number.
I think he did a great job for me, so if they are looking for somebody who has already had an experience with attorneys, I know when I started to go looking for one it was a very leery feeling for me, the trust issue, are they going to be out for your best interests, are they going to treat you like a number, are they just looking for a quick turnaround on things regardless of the situation, and I didn’t get that from James. There was ample time for anything that was going to come out injury-wise to come out. Everything was kept at a reasonable and respectful pace.
I definitely trust him, if I didn’t feel that he was trustworthy and not looking out for my best interests I certainly would not be recommending him to people that I have a relationship, friends, coworkers, that nature.
Sometimes his upfrontness actually would probably bring out my temper because it wasn’t what I wanted to hear necessarily but he was giving it to me like it really, truly was whether it was something that I wanted to hear or not. And knowing how I was, knowing my demeanor, he gave me that anyway, and I can respect that.
For someone new coming in, from a selection standpoint, James will do a great job, have patience and listen to James’ direction.
Kelli B.Thank you for everything that you have done for us. I couldn't have asked for any better service. We will always remember you and appreciate everything that you have done to take care of me and my family. You have gone above and beyond, and I want to make sure you know how much you are appreciated. You are kind of like my family. Thank you for all your hard work in getting this resolved. Saying thank you is not enough, but know, I will always be grateful and happy that I chose you to help with our case.
My deepest regards.

After talking to James, I felt comfortable with him. He's pretty funny. We have a lot in common so it kind of takes away from the stress of what we're dealing with. It was professional and just got right down to the point and took care of business basically. The staff was excellent. They were just very nice and pretty much every time I'd call they were really sweet. I think it's Diane that I talk to all the time. I like her a lot.
James gets the job done. He did the best he could do. I referred my sister to him. I feel he absolutely cared about me. I didn't feel like a number. He would just get the job done basically, and when he called me and asked me questions, he was get right to the point and then we would talk about other things afterwards but basically at the front its lets do this and get this done. James worked hard for me. That's why I hired him again.
The staff, you know the ladies up front, they do a good job. His staff is excellent. Everybody up there is cordial and nice and it's all professional.
I have 100% trust with James. I just feel comfortable with him, and I know he's doing a good job. He is knowledgeable. He was talking about things I had no idea what he was talking about. He was honest and upfront. Like when you meet somebody you just have this intuition? I had that with him.
He's just great. He gets the job done. Yeah, he does a good job.
