Not Everything About The Old Days Was a Good Idea!
Every once in a while, you will hear an “old timer” reminisce about the days before parents were required to put their kids in car seats. Back then, they lament, babies were held on their parents’ laps and older kids just rode around on the seat like adults.
Thanks to technology, today’s kids can ride around more safely. For many years car seat guidelines required all children under the age of five to be in a safety seat. These days the recommendation goes up to the age of 12. Car seat manufacturers have developed booster seats that place smaller bodies in the optimal position for the vehicle’s seat belt systems to work as well for them as they do for adults.
