A motorcycle passenger who was thrown in a motorcycle-car collision was struck by second vehicle as he was waiting for help.
Daniel H. Burge, 19, of Kansas City was driving a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle with a passenger, Zachary R. Elder, 21, of St. Joseph. The accident occurred on Saturday, April 10 around 10:35 pm. The men were headed southbound on I-435 when Burge struck a 1998 Jeep from the rear. Both men were thrown from the motorcycle. As Elder was lying in the street, he was hit by a second Jeep.
Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Elder was wearing a helmet, but Burge was not. The accidents are under investigation.
If you have been seriously injured in a Kansas or Missouri motorcycle accident, it is important that you hire an attorney who has experience in motorcycle accident cases. Motorcycle crash cases are not treated like car wrecks. Insurance companies will try to discredit motorcyclists in order to avoid paying benefits.
