Missouri 71 Highway Scene of Deadly Rollover Accident

On Monday afternoon, the southbound lanes of U.S. 71 Highway were shut down following a rollover crash near Highway 58.  Terry Stutts, 52 of Peculiar and her passenger a 10-year old girl were traveling northbound on 71 Highway when Stutts lost control of the vehicle, crossing the median.  The car rolled over several times, landing in the southbound lanes of 71 Highway.  Stutts, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed in the accident, while the passenger, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained moderate injuries according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

Holiday weekends are notoriously dangerous travel times for drivers, and Memorial Day weekend was no exception.  What is most important to remember as we head into summer and more people traveling our Kansas and Missouri roadways is to buckle up.  Wear your seat belt!  Click it or ticket!  We all know the slogans by heart, but we also sometimes do not wear our seat belts.

Wearing your seat belt is the single most important safety feature provided in your vehicle that can save your life.  At Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys, we see the tragic results of not wearing seat belts and want to encourage all of our Kansas and Missouri drivers to please buckle up.
