A rollover crash outside of Ottawa, Kansas sent four people to three different hospitals for treatement on serious injuries suffered in the crash.  Police are not sure what caused the 18 year-old driver to lose control of the vehicle.  One of the passengers, a 30 year-old female needed to be air lifted to KU Medical Center.

Rollover accidents happen for many reasons and can be one of the deadliest crashes you can ever be involved in.  So many things can happen as the vehicle rolls out of control.  Nearly 10,000 people are killed every year in rollover crahses, many of them right here in Kansas City.

Thankfully, there are ways to prevent rollover crashes and you can start by making sure you are practicing safe and attentive driving techniques.  This includes avoiding distractions such as texting or making calls with your cell phone, picking your radio station or favorite CD before you leave home in the morning, and not eating while you are trying to drive.

Properly maintaining your vehicle also goes along way in helping to prevent these rollover crashes as well.  Tire blowouts caused by tires not being properly inflated are a leading cause in rollover accidnts.  Make sure you are taking care of your vehicle.
