Two Auto Accidents Near Miami, County Pond Kills Three, Seriously Injures Four

A fatal auto accident in Miami County, Kansas killed three people over the weekend in an accident that happened on 169 Highway in Paola, Ks.  Two collisions near a pond off the highway resulted in the death of an infant and two female drivers.  At least five others were hospitalized with serious injuries following the crash. Police say the accidents were caused by icy road conditions.

As experienced Kansas City Auto Injury Lawyers we of course would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the families off all the victims in this tragic accident.  Losing a loved one is extremely difficult no matter what and we certainly wish the best for these families as they try and recover.

It’s no secret icy roads can be dangerous. Day time driving can be bad enough but at night it can be even more dangerous. Patches of ice on the road that are barely visible under snow and slush during the day become that much harder to see at night.

The winter isn’t over.  While we are experiencing a bit of a thaw, the weather could turn again, leaving the wet streets a sheet of ice.  Make sure you are giving yourself enough time to get where you’re going when the roads are bad. Always allow plenty of distance between you and the car in front of you and SLOW DOWN.

The speed limit is just that…the LIMIT to your speed.  Use your best judgment and slow way down if you have to.  Get to your destination safely.  Keep the roads safe for all motorists in Kansas and Missouri.

If you or someone you love has suffered a serious injury in an auto accident in Kansas or Missouri, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses.  Contact our experienced Kansas City Personal Injury Attorneys.
