Carlson was hit in the head when the lid to the sandblaster's tank became dislodged while he was using the machinery. Reports indicate the sandblaster was reportedly rented equipment.
The severely injured victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for his injuries. He never regained consciousness following the accident and was pronounced dead about an hour after his arrival. The U.S. Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) are expected to conduct an investigation.
