Two Motorcyclists Killed in Rear-End Collision with Semi-Truck

Two motorcyclists were killed in a tragic accident when they struck a tractor-trailer truck. The fatal motorcycle-semi-truck accident happened along Sand Lake Road around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday June 2, 2011 in Orlando, Florida.

According to members of the Florida State Highway Patrol, the tractor-trailer was driving east on Sand Lake, attempting to make a left hand turn, when one of the motorcyclists rear-ended the big rig truck. Moments later , the second motorcycle crashed into the trailer. Rescuers found Simmons in the intersection and the second motorcyclist, a 22-year-old Orlando man, in the right through-lane of westbound Sand Lake.

Both motorcyclists were killed in the crash. One has been identified as 29 year-old Carl Simmons. The second victim, a 22 year-old man, has not yet been identified.
