Another Kansas City Metro area high speed car chase caused two accidents Wednesday afternoon.  Police received a report of a stolen vehicle and began their pursuit of a gray SUV in Kansas City, Missouri.  The driver led authorities over to Kansas City, Kansas, then back to the Missouri side into North Kansas City.  The accidents occurred near 14th Street and Burlington Avenue when the SUV ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle.

Almost immediately afterward, the gray SUV hit another car.  Police called in the police helicopter to help track the SUV, which was eventually stopped on the Heart of America bridge.  The driver was taken into custody.

At Roswold Law Group we often discuss the perils of pursuing vehicles through the metro area.  On one hand, it is imperative for police to get suspected criminals off of our streets.  On the other hand, there are times when suspects try to outrun authorities, that the danger to drivers can outweigh the need to stop the suspect.

We applaud our local police for utilizing the police helicopter to track the suspect to make the arrest without further accidents with innocent motorists.

As experienced Kansas City Auto Accident and Injury Attorneys, we want all Kansas City drivers to be alert when driving throughout the city.  You never know when someone may run a red light, or even head the wrong way down the road when trying to flee authorities.
