A Lee’s Summit man was killed while riding his motorcycle on Tuesday. Chad Fritz, 36 years old, was headed north on Jefferson Street when a car struck him.

The accident occurred around 12:45pm when the driver of the car, a young 16 year old boy, was headed south on Jefferson Street and was attempting to make a left turn on Blue Parkway but failed to yield to the right of way to the motorcyclist.

Fritz was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries but died shortly after arriving. The driver of the car was uninjured.

Our deepest sympathies go out to all those impacted by this tragic loss. It’s important that drivers are alert and looking out for motorcyclists at all times.
