A Kansas City motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident over the weekend. According to Kansas City Police, the fatal motorcycle crash happened around 2 a.m. on Saturday April 2, 2011 when a motorcyclist traveling on southbound 71 Highway crashed into a parked police cruiser.

The police car was parked on the ramp to Hickman Mills Road and Blue River Road when it was struck from behind by the man on the motorcycle. The collision instantly killed the motorcyclist but the officer in the car was not injured.

The Kansas City Police will launch an investigation to determine what caused the fatal crash and if there were any influences, such as alcohol or illegal drugs.
