This Saturday marked Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys’ eighth Bikes for Kids giveaway! Abdi Hersi is an 11-year-old student at Whittier Elementary who was nominated by Sildiane Quinteros, Abdi’s fourth-grade teacher. Ms. Quinteros nominated Abdi for having a kind heart, always being positive, and for being an outstanding student.
“He always helped me out by being a peer tutor and assisting students who needed help,” said Ms. Quinteros, “He is always a happy student and when faced with a challenge and he always persevered. I don't think I ever really saw him angry, he always stayed calm and tried to find a way to get through difficult tasks. I was so impressed with the gains he made last school year. He is a hard-working student.”
Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys presented Abdi with a new mountain bike Saturday morning at Midwest Cyclery. Abdi was excited to receive his bike as it will provide him with a means of transportation to and from school, as well as a way to be active and have fun outside after school.
Kansas City Accident Injury Attorneys' Bikes For Kids
The Bikes for Kids program provides one bicycle to a deserving child each week of summer, until late September. Bikes for Kids is asking parents, teachers, caregivers, and loved ones to recognize a child who has made a difference in the life of someone else by nominating them to receive a free bicycle from Midwest Cyclery, compliments of KCAIA. Midwest Cyclery will be donating a helmet and a lock to each winner. While there are no specific guidelines on what makes a nominee deserving of a new bike, we encourage nominators to think about any kind things that the child has done for others, or how the child has positively impacted his or her family, friends, community, or classroom.
